SSC JE Eligibility Criteria

In the first place, a candidate should satisfy SSC JE eligibility criteria 2019 for participating in the recruitment process. The eligibility criteria of SSC JE vary from post to post. Therefore, a candidate should carefully check SSC JE Notification. A candidate should have B.E./B.Tech Degree or Diploma in the concerned field in order to be eligible for SSC JE. It is important to meet SSC JE eligibility criteria for all interested candidates. The eligibility criteria make a category of candidates having the same qualification.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidate should possess the nationality as per the given guidelines. Such candidates hailing from any other country are not eligible. We have mentioned the SSC JE eligibility criteria as can be seen below.

  • Citizen of India or

  • A candidate should be the citizen of Bhutan provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by GOI or

  • Should be the citizen of Nepal provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by GOI or

  • A candidate who is Tibetan refugee and came to India before 1st January 1962 and is permanently settled in India provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India or

  • An Indian origin candidate migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2019: Educational Qualification

A candidate meeting the educational qualification can only apply for SSC JE 2019. The educational qualification for different posts is different. Therefore it is important for candidates to possess the relevant qualification.

Junior Engineer (Civil) Diploma (3 Years) in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognised University.
Junior Engineer (Electrical) Diploma (3 Years) in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from a recognised University.
Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Diploma (3 Years) in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent from a recognised University.
Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contract) Diploma (3 Years) in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognised University.

SSC JE 2019 Eligibility Criteria: Age Relaxation

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories will get the benefit of age relaxation. This is subjected to the candidate possessing the relevant certificate. In case any candidate fails to present the certificate then he/she will not get the benefit of age relaxation. The government allows relaxation for different categories as can be seen below.
