OPSC Eligibility Criteria 2018

Odisha Public Services Commission has proposed the following eligibility criteria necessary to be fulfilled for the eligibility to apply for the OPSE Application Form 2018. The candidate is advised to go through the requirements thoroughly. If an application is found with incomplete or misguiding information, it will be rejected. Any candidate that has provided misguiding information will be debarred from appearing in the examination. It is the responsibility of the candidate to check whether they fulfill the requirements or not. OPSC holds the authority to cancel the application of any candidate if the application is incomplete, wrong or falsely submitted.

Citizenship: The candidate must belong to Indian National.

Age Limit: The candidate must be under the age of 32 years and more than 21 years on 1st January 2018. Age relaxation for the reserved category will be as per the Government Rules, prescribed for the purpose. If a candidate falls into more than one category only the most favorable one category will be applicable.

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a B.Tech or B.Sc. or Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.

Language: The candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia.

Other Criteria:

  • The candidate must have passed Middle School, High School Examination with Odia as a necessary subject.

  • The candidate must have a good moral character must be of good mental condition and body healthy and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the discharge of his/her duties as an officer of the Services/Post.

Eligibility Criteria: Dental Surgeon (Group A)

  • The applicant should have Bachelor Degree in Dental Surgery or equivalent degree from a recognised University/Institute.

  • Written Exam: The Written Exam will be of 450 Marks in which the questions of English, Mathematics, Essay (English & Odia), General Awareness and Reasoning will be asked.

  • Computer Skill Test: The Applicant who will qualify the written exam shall be eligible for the Computer Skill Test. The test will be of 150 Marks. This test will be of qualifying nature.

OPSC Recruitment: Mining Officer

The examination to appoint Mining Officer is conducted by the OPSC. The selection procedure comprise of the Career Assesment and Viva Voce.

Eligibility Criteria: Mining Officer

The applicant satisfying the given eligibility criteria can apply for the post of Mining Officer.

  • The applicant should have completed Degree in Mining Engineering/Applied Geology/Diploma in Mining with min. Second Division Percentage from a recognised Institute/University.

  • The applicant age should be in between 21-32 years. The applicant belonging to the reserved categories shall be eligible for the age relaxation as per the Government Rules.

Selection Procedure: Mining Officer

The selection procedure comprise of the Career Marking and Viva Voce The details are as follows.

  • Career Marking: The career marking will be done in the following manner.

Marks Obtained in High School (Class 10th) – 10%.

Marks Obtained in Intermediate (Class 12th) – 10%.

Marks Obtained in Degree – 10%.

  • Viva Voce: The applicant who will be shortlisted in the Career Marking shall get the call to appear in the Viva Voce Test.

The OPSC conducts examination for the recruitment of the applicant to the post of Forest Ranger. The selection is based on the Written Exam, Physical Test and Viva Voce.

Eligibility Criteria: Forest Ranger

The applicant satisfying the given eligibility criteria can apply for the post of Forest Ranger.

  • The applicant should have Bachelor Degree in any one of the following – Agriculture, Forestry, Engineering, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Geology or equivalent from a recognised University.

  • Physical Standard: Male – Height: 163cm, Chest: 84cm (89cm expanded), Walking: 25km in 4hours; Female – Height: 150cm, Chest: 79cm ( 84cm expanded), Walking: 16km in 4hours.

  • The applicant age should be in between 21-32 years. The applicant belonging to the reserved categories shall be eligible for the age relaxation as per the Government Rules.

Selection Procedure: Forest Ranger

There shall be Written Test, Physical Test and Viva Voce for the selection of the applicant. The details are as follows.

  • Written Exam: The test will have two compulsory papers and 4 optional papers. The papers are conducted for 300 Marks and 200 Marks each respectively.

  • Physical Test: The applicant who will pass the Written Exam shall be called for the Physical Test. The applicant has to present at the given venue for the Physical Test.

  • Viva Voce: The applicant who will pass the Physical Test shall only be eligible to appear in the Viva Voce Test. The Viva Voce Test will be of 200 Marks.
