UPSC IES 2019 Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

One should possess the educational qualification so that they can apply for UPSC IES. The educational qualification is an important aspect of IES Eligibility Criteria 2019.   • Completed Graduation in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University or
  • Passed Section A & B of Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers or
  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London
  • Completed Diploma/Engineering in any discipline from a recognized foreign University or
  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers or
  • Passed Associate Membership Examination Section A & B/Part II & III of Aeronautical Society of India.

ESE Eligibility Criteria 2019: Nationality

It is the utmost necessary thing that an applicant should possess the nationality as indicated by the Commission. If anyone is not possessing the nationality then he/she is not suitable as per IES Eligibility Criteria 2019. Read about the nationality as indicated in the ESE 2019 eligibility criteria from below.

  • Should be an Indian National Citizen.
  • Citizen of Nepal possessing eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India or
  • Should be a citizen of Bhutan subjected to eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India or
  • A person who is Tibetan refugee and came to India before 1st January 1962 and is permanently settled in India provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India or
  • An Indian origin candidate migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam provided that eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India.

UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2019: Age Limit

There is a limitation of age in order to apply for UPSC IES 2019. The details of age limit are available here according to IES Eligibility Criteria 2019. Candidates do not fall in the age group as per UPSC IES eligibility criteria cannot submit the form. Check the age limit as well as max. age relaxation for the different category from below.

  • Age Limit: 21 Years to 30 Years that is he/she is must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988 and not later than 1st August,1997.
  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 Years
  • Jammu & Kashmir domilciled candidates during the 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 – 5 Years.
  • Defence Personnel disabled in operation – 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have served 5 Years in Military Services  – 5 Years
  • ECOs/SSCOs who have completed intial period of 5 Years of Assignment in Military Services  – 5 Years
  • Deaf-Mute and Orthopedically Handicapped Person – 10 Years.
  • The Upper Age Limit of 30 years is relaxable to 35 years in case of the Government Servant of following categories.
